virtual memory low

has anyone else here gotten a pop up message saying that your virtual memory is low?

i keep getting it and its anoying because since that, everything on my computer has either extreamly slow or not doing anything at all

it tells me that its increasing the memory but nothing happens.

its not as if im running out of space, ive got over half of my hard drive free for use

does anyone here have any suggestions?

I get that sometimes, I just ignore it.

Try Defragmenting your drive...

...that may work...

...or may not...

..plus it's good fun.

Also, you may have too many programs at start-up. In which case, click Start -> Run and then type msconfig. Then click the 'start-up' tab and uncheck all the programs you don't need to load automatically.

Also if it happens during your session, go to task manager and end unneccessary processes. Finally, run a spyware and virus check.
