Wheately, why don't you buy a .com domain name?


Obviously it costs money, but you could maintain the site with a charged feature (as in, people pay to access a part of the site). It'd have to be pretty exclusive, though, to warrant paying. And you'd have to get rid of any copyrighted material.


Btw, the 1st link on the toolbar doesn't work (and you've forgotten to name the email link). Just so you know.

Mainly because the link appears to be for the NetHazard email, since that's where it actually goes.


And anyway, who's going to see the advertisement? You see, they would if the domain name was better. So how is it a bad idea?


(Plus, the homepage link definitely doesn't work.)

there nothing wrong with the domain name!


the site was intended for US (our group of friends) to keep intouch! so we all know the address and name so i dont think it needs to be changed!


and wheatly like the new side banner thing looks good!

Trust me, they would, I've seen it done. Of course, the forum has to have a special feature, which would have to be created first.


And I don't want any profit, Staddon - I have plenty of money. (And I haven't even had to sell my body in a back room of M&S )


If Wheately doesn't want to, then fine - all I'm saying is that it's a pretty good way of getting the forum to the public, and making a bit of money for the site.

It's not really got anything to do with the length of the name. It's about accessability.


Who's ever going to find a .9f.com site? Why do you think we hardly ever get new people?


With a .co.uk, a lot more people will find us and join. But if you don't want to get more members, then fine... :p
